Slabs – natural-edged timber for further use
At Kroflič Sawmill in Črnova near Velenje, we offer slabs produced by sawing the outer sections of logs. They generally retain the natural curve of the log on one side, sometimes with bark, so they differ from uniformly edged boards. Width, thickness and usable surface area can vary from piece to piece.
Slabs can be used for simple wooden products, natural-looking cladding or further processing if their quality and dimensions suit the purpose. We consider timber species, moisture content, bark condition and usable material yield when choosing. Suitability for outdoor or other demanding uses is checked against the specific conditions.
